Light, small, superb handling, affordable... these terms or pros are just a few of the many that describes a Honda S2000. I'm sure there was at least one moment in your lifetime of wanting to purchase one, especially for you tuners. What I personally love about this model in the Honda line is that the aftermarket support is outstanding. There are so many companies making parts for this car and till this day, it continues on. However, there will be only a few that will get recognition in the scene because not too many S2000s out there 'stand out'. Today, you'll be seeing a gorgeous one, shot by our contributing photographer Jim Davis. The car was modified in the simplest form, yet with high-end and functional parts. Let me introduce you to Matt Musto's S2000, or what I like to call it starting from today, J's 2k.

"What the...I thought he was done with the Memorable Rides article.." Yeap! I was~ but sitting down at Starbucks yesterday and thinking about my blog like always, there were a few more rides I just had to give some spotlight because of its well-built figure and uniqueness other than the 10 cars I introduced to you guys in my Memorable Rides of 2011 post. This is why living in California as an automotive enthusiast is like a blessing. Well-rounded quality cars will mostly be in California and those rides are good enough to stun the world. On top of that, there will always be a car show or meet within every single week. What more can you ask when everything you want as an enthusiast happens in CA? It reminds me of my automotive childhood (only a year ago because I didn't know jack shiet about cars back then) when I went to my first event, then to the second on the following week, and then next week, next week...next week...you know how it goes. I obviously can't remember every single ride in the scene throughout my active years, but the ones I do remember means that those cars had a strong impression. For all you girls, it's the feeling of going inside Louis Vuitton, seeing a newly released bag, going home and thinking about it 24/7. Without further ado, I would like to continue with my choice of memorable rides from 2011.

It's about time to share with you guys my favorite rides from Southern California. There were a few qualifications that needed to be met before I decided which cars deserved some recognition or already did, but worth another one. I can think of a few right now that are ridiculously gorgeous, but to me, it wasn't about what kind of parts a car had or which team it represented. My choices were based off on activeness, quality of the car, and attitude of the car owner. It might seem as if I'm going a bit overboard here, but I personally think that's what makes a car known and recognized by many enthusiasts. I'm not saying fully built show cars aren't worth a feature on Night Import or any blog/site. Of course those cars will be featured and get recognized, but the props really goes to the ones that actually bring out their show built cars to meets/shows to represent their team or just themselves. Please don't take this to heart to all of ya'll who own spectacular cars. I love em! which is why I'm going to write another article with cars I think are just way over the top!
Some of these rides you are about to see were seen numerous times on my blog, but if this is your first time visiting this page or haven't been updated with my articles and features, it will be worth your time and give you somewhat of an idea of what kind of cars I truly like. Managing my own personal blog for a year now led me to so many situations and through those situations, accomplishing goals within this scene. It might sound awkward to some of you guys when I say the word goal, but seeing so many different events occurring in a community, there are things you really want to see a change, such as improvements in certain fields of the automotive industry or giving some spotlight to those who deserve it. My intentions were straightforward when I created Night Import and so far, I have to say I've been doing a pretty darn good job. Naw, I don't think I'm being cocky at all because I still have a long way to go and lack the knowledge in many parts of this field, but looking through how I spent my past year in the car scene, there were times when I said to myself "Wow..serious?" because of feeling honored or just thrilled.

Few months ago when Bulletproof Automotive contacted me to be the main Media for their upcoming meet, I felt as if what I've been working for came to a point where it was all worth it.
Bulletproof is known for being a distributor of Japan aftermarket parts, but also for their blog, Real JDM. Unlike other companies, keeping things authentic is what this company is all about and if you read through their blog, you'll either see/read about their project cars or thoughts about the automotive industry, which is not doing so well today. You'll rarely come across blogs that talk about sensitive subjects and speak the truth, which is why I personally consider Bulletproof as one of the best companies and blogs out there today. Their 11th Anniversary meet held at K1 Speed in Torrance, CA yesterday was a day for those who followed Bulletproof for a long time or recent fans like me, knowing what was good and being supportive with originality . Although there weren't a crazy amount of cars like local night meets, this meet was more of quality than quantity.

A few S2000s are well known when it comes to Time Attack in Japan, but there was one that struck the world with amazement, leaving some of us speechless with its extraordinary power and overall outstanding build; Autobacs ASM's S2000.
Our new family member, Kaoru san from Japan, gave us these exclusive photos taken during a time attack session at Tsukuba.

We've already seen Kevin's Miata from JMC on our Random Spotlight a few days ago, and it's now time to re-introduce the other members, Phil Arboleda and Jon Palomata.
Do the rides look familiar? I'm sure it does, because Phil's S2000 was featured on Stance:Nation last year and Jon's S2000 was introduced from our site.
These guys already have the fame, but I'm giving them a feature once again because of a newer and better setup than before. If you had no clue what an aggressive stance was on a S2000, today will be your day to witness one.

Rather than posting these photos up on Flickr, I want to share some photos of these top quality cars I took during JDM Sport's meet last Sunday. While I was shooting Henry's Evo for our 'Spotlight' feature, a friend of mine from JDM Glam was asking if we should do a photoshoot with other cars that were present at the meet. Because the location was absolutely gorgeous and the cars that joined along were top cars, we took some time to take a few shots.
At the left is Kelvin Hsiu's the famous Do-Luck Widebody Evo, Jackson Wong's S2K at the right, and Henry's Evo at the top.

Perhaps this might be over exaggerating, but S2000s represent the Honda scene with its sporty look and compactness. The discontinuation of this model became a disappointment in the automotive community and seeing one just triggered the greediness of almost every sports car fans to buy one. Slick body design, simple yet unique interior, and highly respectable performance stats of an s2k is the reason why the car has its fame.
We've seen numerous S2000s featured on blogs, sites, and magazines, some highly modified ones to just simply clean, but today, you'll be seeing one that's like no other; updated body design, simple but quality equipped interior and fully tuned and built stock motor.
