Nightlight | Memorable Rides of 2011 (Part 2)

INTRODUCTION
"What the...I thought he was done with the Memorable Rides article.." Yeap! I was~ but sitting down at Starbucks yesterday and thinking about my blog like always, there were a few more rides I just had to give some spotlight because of its well-built figure and uniqueness other than the 10 cars I introduced to you guys in my Memorable Rides of 2011 post. This is why living in California as an automotive enthusiast is like a blessing. Well-rounded quality cars will mostly be in California and those rides are good enough to stun the world. On top of that, there will always be a car show or meet within every single week. What more can you ask when everything you want as an enthusiast happens in CA? It reminds me of my automotive childhood (only a year ago because I didn't know jack shiet about cars back then) when I went to my first event, then to the second on the following week, and then next week, next week...next week...you know how it goes. I obviously can't remember every single ride in the scene throughout my active years, but the ones I do remember means that those cars had a strong impression. For all you girls, it's the feeling of going inside Louis Vuitton, seeing a newly released bag, going home and thinking about it 24/7. Without further ado, I would like to continue with my choice of memorable rides from 2011.

Taking the imaginary time machine and going back a year, I remember attending AutoCon with a few friends of mine and N-I staffs to cover the event. Being the first underground event I've ever attended, the finest rides in Southern California filled the showcase lot, cameras flashing from every angle as if photographers were treating the event more than a car show. There were tons of models and spectators, but what really caught my attention were obviously the cars. I left my business card on the ones I wanted to shoot for my site and I vividly remember talking to the owner of a unique Green colored S14 with an unusual twist to it. I was in awe with the car and my eyes weren't distracted by the sound or models walking by. After AutoCon and while heading back to my pad to edit the photos, I thought of all the cars I left my card on, and today, I'm honored to feature one of those cars which recently had its fame on an automotive magazine. Let me introduce you to Theresa and Peter's LS1 S14.

Event Coverage | 3rd Annual SoCal S-Chassis Car Show

S Chassis-23
There is usually a time period when car shows will die out, but here in SoCal, car shows keep happening every single week! I'm not complaining at all because I love what I do as a hobby, but when there are more than 2 events happening on the same day and time, I got to move and act extra fast so that I can take care of all the major events in a day. Yesterday was exactly one of those days, 5 events happening at various times and location, but I was able to cover three events, one of them being this first coverage I'm about to share with you guys today, S-Chassis Car Show and Meet.

I remember attending this event last year checking out some Silvias when I was just learning about cars and had difficulties identifying chassis codes . I think I got better and I actually tried to learn more about Silvias because I personally love the car. I had a great time last year and was expecting the same for this years event.

Event Coverage: 626 Drift Crew @ The Balcony

This past weekend was my first time attending a drifting event at the famous Willow Springs Raceway. Located at a deserted area in Rosamond, CA and being able to accommodate hundreds of cars, this Raceway has a long history with many drifters and racers.
On Sunday, early in the morning, two events were going down at Willow Springs; Redline Time Attack by Speed Ventures and the 626 Drift Crew drifting @ The Balcony. The Balcony is a separate track area up in the mountains purely for drifting. You can definitely see tire marks everywhere and the main track itself is built up with tire marks.

It's not a surprise anymore to see the UK automotive enthusiasts getting together and cruising down the streets. But still, I'm very impressed to see such a huge crowd collaborating and having so much fun despite the weather conditions. As always, our photographer Rich McKee did a great job on bringing us a coverage.

Random Spotlight: Sexy14

I never get tired of slammed S14's.
Wait.. let me add more to it. Slammed & Stanced!

This beauty was found through the Zilvia forums and I contacted the owner right away.
I've noticed a lot of stanced car owners dwell in NorCal. No wonder why they roll big and have stance events frequently. If you guys check the events section on forums, the recent Fatlace Klas:sik show was held @ fontana and the upcoming Stance of the Union will be @ Sacramento.
Owner of this S14 also lives in NorCal and he's reppin the scene with some sexy SSR's on Buddy Club coilovers.

Random Spotlight: Daily, Drift, & Track

Do you DD your car?
Well I do and it is pretty darn low and difficult to drive in streets like Los Angeles.
I can't complain though because some drifters drive their car daily.
Zip-ties holding the bumper...slammed to the ground...
It's not a pleasant look to people who you see on freeways driving stock cars, but to people like us, it's dam sexy.

S14's are mostly owned by people who drift or track. Kyle, owner of the car, bought this s14 3 years ago to do the same, but also to drive it as a daily.

Hot & Cold S14

August 4, 2010

One of my favorite cars, the S14.
Slick looking, fast, popular. It has almost every component that attract car lovers.
I've seen numerous S14's on the streets and most of them are amazing.
Today's coverage is for Ho Young Lee's sexy looking S14 on white Enkei RPF1's.
Why Hot & Cold? Hot because it's a S14 and Cold because of the cool looking white rpf1's.
This dude is ballin owning a S13 and S14, one being a daily driven car and the other for drifting.
It's hard to maintain two cars, espeically if one is for drifting, but Lee managed to do amazing work on both cars.
The S14 is not hellaflush, but stance'd to my liking.
Very clean and well managed, i give this car a thumbs up!
