"What the...I thought he was done with the Memorable Rides article.." Yeap! I was~ but sitting down at Starbucks yesterday and thinking about my blog like always, there were a few more rides I just had to give some spotlight because of its well-built figure and uniqueness other than the 10 cars I introduced to you guys in my Memorable Rides of 2011 post. This is why living in California as an automotive enthusiast is like a blessing. Well-rounded quality cars will mostly be in California and those rides are good enough to stun the world. On top of that, there will always be a car show or meet within every single week. What more can you ask when everything you want as an enthusiast happens in CA? It reminds me of my automotive childhood (only a year ago because I didn't know jack shiet about cars back then) when I went to my first event, then to the second on the following week, and then next week, next week...next week...you know how it goes. I obviously can't remember every single ride in the scene throughout my active years, but the ones I do remember means that those cars had a strong impression. For all you girls, it's the feeling of going inside Louis Vuitton, seeing a newly released bag, going home and thinking about it 24/7. Without further ado, I would like to continue with my choice of memorable rides from 2011.

It's about time to share with you guys my favorite rides from Southern California. There were a few qualifications that needed to be met before I decided which cars deserved some recognition or already did, but worth another one. I can think of a few right now that are ridiculously gorgeous, but to me, it wasn't about what kind of parts a car had or which team it represented. My choices were based off on activeness, quality of the car, and attitude of the car owner. It might seem as if I'm going a bit overboard here, but I personally think that's what makes a car known and recognized by many enthusiasts. I'm not saying fully built show cars aren't worth a feature on Night Import or any blog/site. Of course those cars will be featured and get recognized, but the props really goes to the ones that actually bring out their show built cars to meets/shows to represent their team or just themselves. Please don't take this to heart to all of ya'll who own spectacular cars. I love em! which is why I'm going to write another article with cars I think are just way over the top!
Some of these rides you are about to see were seen numerous times on my blog, but if this is your first time visiting this page or haven't been updated with my articles and features, it will be worth your time and give you somewhat of an idea of what kind of cars I truly like. I'm actually behind with a lot of features, so I'm very sorry with the ones I promised to post up on the day of announcement, but had to delay it for a few days. As many of you SoCal residents and my blog followers know, HIN (Hot Import Nights) was held at LA Convention Center yesterday night. The full coverage of the event will be up today or tomorrow, but before I get to it, I want to start it off with a small spotlight on a car I spotted and instantly fell in love with.

There is usually a time period when car shows will die out, but here in SoCal, car shows keep happening every single week! I'm not complaining at all because I love what I do as a hobby, but when there are more than 2 events happening on the same day and time, I got to move and act extra fast so that I can take care of all the major events in a day. Yesterday was exactly one of those days, 5 events happening at various times and location, but I was able to cover three events, one of them being this first coverage I'm about to share with you guys today, S-Chassis Car Show and Meet.

I remember attending this event last year checking out some Silvias when I was just learning about cars and had difficulties identifying chassis codes . I think I got better and I actually tried to learn more about Silvias because I personally love the car. I had a great time last year and was expecting the same for this years event.

This past weekend was my first time attending a drifting event at the famous Willow Springs Raceway. Located at a deserted area in Rosamond, CA and being able to accommodate hundreds of cars, this Raceway has a long history with many drifters and racers.
On Sunday, early in the morning, two events were going down at Willow Springs; Redline Time Attack by Speed Ventures and the 626 Drift Crew drifting @ The Balcony. The Balcony is a separate track area up in the mountains purely for drifting. You can definitely see tire marks everywhere and the main track itself is built up with tire marks.

Random Spotlight: Project Built #2: Green Drifter

If you guys remember, I did a coverage on a project-build coverage of a Jetta.
This will be my 2nd project-build coverage, but this time, a S13.

One of my favorite cars in the car world are Silvia's.
I don't know why but they look sexy when drifting or even on the road.
What makes it look better is when they are properly stanced.
You guys gotta agree that Silvia's look sexy when slammed to the ground.

The Green Silvia being featured today belongs to Eugene from LV, but borned in Russia.
The reason why I chose this car as a project built feature was because of the work that was done by Eugene himself. You'll see the progress from how it started to how it sits today, but everything was done in his garage. From welding to paint, the car came out amazing and all the responses in his thread is full with compliments.
I did a breakdown of his project built S13 so here we go~
