How long has it been since I actually logged in and updated my blog? .... I have no idea .... I am truly sorry for all my NI fans. It's not the lack of interest in the car scene guys. I've been hearing from all my friends about the car scene and I always try to keep myself updated by checking out other car blogs. If I have to make another excuse like every blog post I write, I don't shoot anymore and pretty dam busy with my job. O well... but HEY! I'm back again! Let's jump right into what I have to show you guys today.

If you are a fan of my blog, you know that every year, I post up a coverage on SEMA. It's either me going there and covering it alone or sending my guys. Unfortunately for this year, my guys and I couldn't make it :/ So I had to look through my facebook friends/groups/etc. to see who would contribute their work for my blog. Luckily, I came across UCI's facebook group and saw a photo posted by Seijin Dootson. He gladly accepted my request and sent a few photos yesterday for my blog to share with you guys.

The first car you see up there is one of my favorite cars, the Mazda RX-7 FD. It kinda sucks to know that the FD doesn't get much recognition like the old days, but I still love it and will be one of my favorites until I die. What you see is a bit different from other modified FDs you've seen at car shows/events. The widebody is the popular Rocket Bunny kit with a wheel I have never seen by Enkei, the Enkei92. The color combo is a love at first sight kind of feeling.

It's been a long time since I posted something up for you guys. If you remember our Part 1 coverage on Tokyo Auto Salon, we mainly focused on the White cars that caught our attention. Charles did a great job finding the cars he liked and like always, sending me the photos. Today, we'll show you around more of what went on in TAS. I felt as if I haven't gone to a car show for years! Actually..it's been only 2 months after attending AutoCon last year, but for some reason, that 2 months was a wait. I did go to car meets and stuff, but the atmosphere of a car show was something I truly missed. Luckily, my boy Alvin, owner of Import Fashion, worked his ass off to lock down a venue and create his own show for the enthusiasts. There were some complications last year when he tried to have his 1 yr. anniversary meet, but gladly things worked out well this year and the planned meet turned into an event.
Alvin is a close friend of mine in and outside of the car scene and our friendship started even before my blog was created. We actually launched our sites around the same time period, which is why I've been going to car shows and meets with him pretty often in the past. When I heard he was finally having his own show, I couldn't be any happier. His work throughout the months was appreciated by many because of covering both models and cars. I would say his blog's content was more toward models. According to Alvin, he will be featuring more cars this year, so stay tuned! I could go on and on about how awesome Alvin is, but instead of writing down my thoughts like I always do with coverages, I'll jump into the coverage on Import Showcase by Import Fashion.

Event Coverage | SevenStock 14 - "Long Live the Rotary"

SevenStock is probably the most anticipated event of the year in Southern California for Rotary fans and owners. I clearly remember as if it was yesterday attending SevenStock last year, running and walking around every single aisle like a little kid, trying to take a photo of every single car that attended. It was during the time period when I didn't know jack about cars, especially rotaries, except knowing the fact that Rx-7s were the shit! Well...that's what I heard, so ever since then, my interest in Rx-7 FDs was growing and as of now, it's my favorite car. Yea~ I know I know~ Rotaries are difficult to manage and not really cost efficient when a problem occurs, but I really don't care! It's like falling in love with someone and willing to do anything it takes to keep her v(^-^)v If I do get one in the near future, I'll definitely make a separate savings account just for the car :D
Anyways, back to SevenStock, the event location for this year was different than last year. Last year's event was at Mazda HQ in Irvine, CA where Cars and Coffee is held every Saturday. I'm not sure if this was the first time, but for this year, it was held at Fairplex, Pomona, CA. Now a few things changed, such as admission fees for people who wanted to show their ride and general + parking fees for spectators. Considering all these 'economic' changes, I was a bit worried with the amount of showcase cars and spectators because last year's free event was totally off the hook. Arriving with our editor Edgar Lozoya at the event around 12pm and taking a quick glimpse of the area, the showcase lot was smaller, amount of cars participating was smaller, and the quality of cars went downhill big time compared to SevenStock 13. I was sort of disappointed, but seeing one well-done FD was good enough, such as the one shown above owned by Ryan from R-Ryde. Let's get to the coverage, so that you guys can enjoy some rotaries!

Events like JCCS are one of the reasons why I love doing what I do as a hobby. Although I personally think photography is crucial when it comes to coverage, it's more about appreciating the cars, especially the ones that are at JCCS because of its age and rarity. Most of the cars I saw at this event were immaculate! As mentioned in Part 1, I was surprised to see 25~30 year old cars looking as if they came out of a factory. I have to give props to all classic car owners and their effort in keeping their rides clean. Thumbs up!

Random Spotlight: Power Rx-7

One of the cars that got the main spotlight near the end of Rebuilding Japan in Los Angeles Car Meet was this FD Rx-7, fully built to dominate almost any field in the automotive sport.

Event Coverage: 7Stock Coverage

On Saturday, I had to cover 2 events and a photoshoot for my blog and juststance.com. Really long day, but I had a lot of fun. As you guys know, 7stock was going on at Irvine and it was huge! Most of the shows that are dedicated for a certain company has a good turnout. For the Scion event that happend at Longo, more than 300 cars showed up and the result for 7stock was pretty much the same. The whole parking lot of Mazda North America Corporate HQ Center was full of Mazda's. Almost all the rotaries in SoCal showed up. Even people from out of states came as well.

I took photos of rotaries that were modded to my liking because there were too many cars and half of them were just stock. I took a different step when editing the photos for this event. I added a lot of vibrance and it came out ... pretty bad :) but hope you guys like it.

Finest Mazda 3

One of Houston's finest Mazda, this 2005 Mazda 3 Hatchback in Titanium Grey Metallic belongs to Kevin Nangcas from Houston.
I've seen many Mazda3's rolling around in my neighborhood and on the freeways and I gotta admit, they don't really look that nice in stock height :/
I think that has to do with any car nowadays :D
Well this one is different and looking good than any other Mazada 3's.
