Night-Import: Photography and Words by William Lee
Although it's been months since Japan was hit by a massive earthquake, the country is still in its stage of reconstruction and many victims are still homeless. Here in Southern California, there have been several charity events to help raise money for Japan, such as Sideway Sundays, Krispy Kreme Donut Meet, and Rebuilding Japan meet in Little Tokyo. Events/meets for such causes are still happening and this month, our supporters VIP Modular Wheels collaborated with Team Praxis to host a charity event at VIP Modular's HQ.
When the purpose of a meet/event is to raise money or donate for a good cause, Night-Import will definitely try to make it out. Upon arrival, there were already a line of cars trying to get in. A donation of only $10 or $10 worth of canned foods was needed in order to get a VIP spot.
I arrived pretty early with team Low N Slow member Tracy and didn't expect to see cars already parked at the back.
The crowd of cars were pretty diverse.
This Yellow Mugen ITR was looking fresh when it rolled in.
The Mini Cooper and Datsun Roadster from JER Development caught my attention, not only because they were classics, but also because of what was under those hoods. More photos later on.
Car owners cleaning up their rides.
I don't know the full story of what happened here, but I think it got towed just to make an open spot.
Now to the show cars, starting it off with an Acura TL from Team Shyne.
Team Royal Flush rolled in pretty deep to this charity event.
You can never go wrong with Leon Hardiritt Ordens.
Few more cars going to the other side of the lot for VIP spots.
Team Royal Flush leader's GS with Royal Flush Nibbori next to it.
No introduction needed right?
We have already seen this Fortune NSX at Wekfest, but it's not wrong to be amazed once again.
Whatever it takes to make those wheels fit.
Just a snap of beautiful WORK wheels.
You should have noticed by now the amount of cars from Team Royal Flush. Good to see these guys coming out to support a meet for a good cause.
Back to this Datsun Roadster from JER Development, I heard it was running on a F20C. If you want to see some well built classics, drop by JER Dev. I might as well visit pretty soon.
Another car from JER Dev., this one is running on a K20. Top to bottom, right to left, this Mini was pristine and unique!
ITR we saw earlier rolling in.
G35 that got First Place at Wekfest Los Angeles.
Camberd getting cleaned.
By far my favorite RPS13 from team Low N Slow.
Jesse's 1JZ Celica. His ride got some love from StanceWorks.
I realized how sexy Tracy's TSX was, during the drive with him to this meet.
Our editor Edgar Lozoya and his Purple G35.
I'll continue with this coverage later on. Tons of photos will make your computer lag, so wait up and check back tonight.
