Random Spotlight: Drift it like it's HOT!

September 25, 2010

I'm not a fan of posting a coverage one per day. More the better and there are tons of cars out there that deserve a coverage, so here's my third coverage for today.

Being interested in the drifting scene these days, I came across an awesome drifter in the WFC forums. Along with pictures of his ride, he posted a video of him drifting in the mountains. This car did an engine swap to a ca18det and it's drifting hard!

Pretty awesome eh? Reminds me of a scene from Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. Of course it's dangerous, but as long as you're not an amateur drifter, it can be done!

This is not like those cars that are super clean from top to bottom. It's something different and..what should I say... sexy :)
ca18det swap
3in straightpipe, stock muffler now, cops...
gp sports g four coilovers 12/10, collar taken out in front and maxed, rear is maxed.
15x8 -40 boyd coddington stars in front, 15x10 -28 diamond racing wheels in rear. 195/50 all around.
PBM toe rods and subframe risers.
Energy full bushing kit.
completely gutted.
wink mirror.
origin carbon roof spoiler.
welded diff.

Gotta keep it low! If you're asking "why?"...well from what I've learned recently, lowering the car, which will lower the center of gravity, will increase stability and reduce the body roll. So for future drifters, slam that shiet!

Gotta find a place like this in CA and take a drifting friend.

Some sexiness here going up in the mountains.

Can't forget about zip-ties on drifting cars. A lot of parts just break down so zip-ties will be your best friend. Check out this awesome video on Youtube.

Lastly, I want to share another video of this car drifting. Enjoy!
