Event Coverage: ID Auto Festival
November 29, 2010
Have you ever imagined your favorite aftermarket companies doing a huge garage sale, but all on the same day? Well don't worry about going back and forth because you'll see all those companies at one place, which is the day of ID Auto Festival. ID Auto Festival is one of those events you do not want to miss if you're an aftermarket fanatic. Prices are highly deducted on used or brand new items. For example, Kics R40 Neo-Chrome lug nuts, brand new, selling for $99 (MSRP $220).
There were people going in and out buying a cart load of products and that's what these companies want to see. The event also has a separate car show as well so for next year, make sure to bring your team/crew to represent and win a cash prize!
I found out about the car show at the last minute so I decided to roll with the Low N Slow guys; Peter (Orange Yaris) and Mustafa (Lexus SC).
Enough clearance?
Mustafa's SC got stuck on the drive way and we were pushing the car in the freezing weather.
By the way, it's all false what you hear about California's weather because throughout this whole week, it was raining, windy, and COLD!!!!!!!
After arriving, I saw this Silvia parked right next to the entrance.
Pink Gram lights, Vertex kit.. such a beauty.
Couple of minutes later, Platinum VIP rolled in.
Kennedy's Aristo.
Everything on this car is a win.
You'll be seeing a feature on this SC later on.
There were more guys that came in to rep Platinum VIP and those photos will be shared at the bottom.
Now let's start with the Garage Sale Tour :)
LOT USA was selling a lot of goodies.
BRIDE FTW!
ATI sold some Gauge pods and others.
I turned around and saw this classic.
Right in front of the LOT USA booth was this CUBE on SSR's. Not looking bad at all.
As usual, the shirt selling guys were there. Finally had a chance to talk with one of the guys and he recognized our site after I handed him my business card. Good stuff!
Some Promo advertising going on.
SEIBON/GODSPEED's GTR on display.
I saw some EVO's all together. Loved the limited edition Volk ce28n's on this car.
Another nice Evo with an ARC intercooler, Takata's, etc.
RENNSPEC's Bimmer on Mag Blue Volk TE37's.
Bimmer's representing RENNSPEC.
JBT BBK.
I think these were Circuit Sport Coilovers. The top mounts were one of a kind.
APEXi was doing really well. Most of their 'cash' items sold in minutes.
Lexus SC430 built by APEXi & VIP Auto Salon driven by Tyuji Miki.
Sexiness right there.
I had no idea about this company until I looked at their body kits and realized the tC one was called JP VISAGE. Their kits are pretty popular in the Scion community.
Air Runner and a VIP Lexus.
I would drive it...any day...
Greddy had some high quality items on sale.
I think it was a body kit store.
TEIN. You guys should check out their own garage sale when they have one because not do they only sell TEIN products but also other used aftermarket parts from other companies. Prices are insanely cheap.
FIVE AXIS and their cars. The 2011 tC is starting to grow on me.
Scion's at the event.
Mackin Industries was busy throughout the whole day. Their prices for lug nuts were cheaper than ebay.
INGs+1 wheels.
One more look at this S14.
and another S14 parked right next to it, but on Work Meisters and Twin Turboed.
It was good to see Tan from Password:JDM.
Forgot to take a photo of this R32. The owner left pretty early but all about this car is just purely amazing. On BBS LM's with red centers and a RB26 Twin Turbo. Everyone was looking at the car when it was on the street moving. Sounds MEAN!!!
On-site feature coming up!!!!!!!
Rear shot of Kennedy's Aristo from Platinum VIP.
5 series from Platinum VIP. A full feature on this ride very soon. Think of this photo as a teaser.
Charles Q. I call it the 'demon camber'.
One of the cleanest tC's in CA. Separate feature.
Everyone who was at the event needs to thank this DJ. He was doing his thing from the start to the end.
Saw one of my favorite IS's later on.
Mackin still busy.
AutoCon Widebody Civic Si :)
'Forum' crowd. They had their own raffles going on.
DJ: "So who's from ______ forum?"
5~6 people: "Yay!!!!!"
The owner was walking out with some classic wheels for the AE.
I was getting really bored and Chris from Platinum called me up to check out a 10 yr old driving a VIP car. Always good to start early.
Saw this IS-F on SSR's. Looked clean!
I was expecting a massive turnout but I guess the event wasn't promoted too much on the net or people were saving up some money for Christmas.
Either way, Night-Import will need to step up for next year.
Hope everyone had a great weekend! Tons of features coming up so sit tight!
