Night-Import: Photography by William Lee
As much as I want to share every single photo with some descriptions for you guys, it took me awhile to write part 2. Huge events like SEMA is overwhelmed with people and exotic high-end cars that you usually don't see too often unless you live in a rich area. I'll definitely try my best to be accurate..if not, Big Abe, wearing the VIP Modular 24k face plate necklace, will beat me up! :D
Abe's a popular guy in the automotive world because he always has a wheel over his neck at events and this time, he went to SEMA to promote SMARTWAX and VIP Modular Wheels.
Continuing my post from part 1, after getting the media pass, I was checking out the upper floor of South Hall, which was the Powersports & Utility Vehicles and Trucks and the lower floor, Wheel & Accessory section, which will be mostly covered on today's Part II coverage. Near the entrance were newly introduced products and I saw this.
Pole Girls: Spin As You Drive!!!
If you never heard of SEMA, it's basically a premier automotive specialty products trade event, so different industries all around the world come to one place to promote their products. More than half of the vendors are new to the U.S. and there were some interesting products on display. Some vendors had to be creative like this booth, PUTCO.
Can't miss the luxurious cars on display.
BIGTIME displaying their specialty, LED's.
2011 Subaru STI on TSW wheels.
I've seen numerous photos of Chris Rado's AWD Scion tC but never in person. This machine is a beast!!!!
2.4L 2AZFE 4 cylinder engine putting 1007WHP and 890TQ @ 50psi!
Eri Moriyama in front of the winner of 2010 Formula D, Vaughn Gittin Jr.'s Mustang. I have a pretty awesome story to tell you guys about the drifter, so more to come later on!
HRE, BBS's, and SSR. Wish I had a collection like this...
One of the best looking GT-R's at SEMA. On black chrome faced BBS LM's.
I would love to drift this Porsche.
Didn't know Falken made 3-piece wheels or this wheel just had a Falken engraved center cap.
Fiesta!
Never seen so many HRE's...
Nitto Tires had the Ferrari 458 Italia on display.
Carlsson's Benz on Germany brand tires called Vredestein.
Kyle Mohan's RX-8.
Not my choice of color but still...it's a BMW :)
Nothing too special on this TT Quatro except the Vinyl's.
Carbon Fiber!!!
It was really awkward to see XXR being the ONLY booth not allowing photos to be taken, except their displayed cars. I personally think it's a poor strategy in marketing, but you business related people should know better.
The wheels killed the look, but the models did the job.
Let's take this car for work.
Stunning...absolutely stunning...
At the far end of 1st floor for South Hall were featured cars being displayed and most of them were Bimmers.
MFEST guys rolled really big to SEMA.
Good to see most of these cars were on high-end wheels.
Did not blend in with the others..
Such an amazing Bimmer Wagon. I should buy one, mod it like this, and take my kids to school.
Loved the hood design on the RX-7.
Twin Turbo Supra on sexy discontinued Volks.
I've seen this Subaru on the net and finally got a chance to see it in person. Love it!
Better choice of rims please!
Although our site is mostly about Imports, some domestics at SEMA were more than awesome and I had to take photos. The owners not only focused on making the exterior look glossy and clean, but the interior, engine bay, etc. were flawless.
Alvin told me a story about this Si but I forgot.
Linea Corse. One of the closest looking BBS LM reps are made by this company.
Here are some photos of engine bays on domestics. Fabulous!
Aircentric Bucket Seats?
Velocity's display area. Bling Bling!
Jenny Chu was at this booth but I think the photo disappeared.
The interior of this Cressida was ICE'd out!
RHD! Always wanted to drive one..
Reminded me of one of those VIP cars I saw on youtube.
Would you rock these?
Next generation of Steelies!
Mesh wheels look much better on Benz's.
The Giovanna section was really attractive because of the hot models and its own blocked out booth with white curtains, fancy lighting, white fluffy carpets, and a nice display of their wheels. Most of the cars at the left were trucks and the right with expensive high-end cars.
Longgggggggggg.
It was more like a club in this booth.
Yeap..it did.
Ferrari California is one of favorites.
Another favorite as well. Not the wheels though..
This is how it's supposed to be done on a Rolls Royce.
She was HOT! More photos of her later on for Part 3 or 4.
I can't recall the brand of this car, but it was one of the limited editions.
Uh oh... Some seriousness..
Genesis Coupe by Hankook.
I would love to trade my tC for this R8.
I over heard Alvin talking with the guys who designed this car and I forgot everything.
Hello :)
Have you ever seen this super car? It's a Gumpert Apollo from Germany. Mods? Let me keep this simple; Bi-Turbo and pulls about 800HP depending on the model.
Loved this Ferrari that was displayed with the Apollo. Both of these cars were transported from the UK.
Walking around the wheel section, I was looking forward to see Rota :D
Loved the finish on the Rota Tamrac's, but come on! Why on a BMW???
Forgiato also had some high end cars, but it was more than just the wheels. If you take a closer look at the cars like this Porsche Panamera Turbo, check out the body kit.
I spent a long time in this section walking around and taking a closer look at the cars.
The value of all these body kits will equal to a used luxurious car.
Time to walk out of the center to grab lunch and I see this model,
right next to Chris Rado getting ready for his interview.
Much more to come so check back for Part III!!
