Most of the vehicles we see in Japan and Europe are sold in the US, but there are some models/makes exported only to a certain country, such as this car, Opel Corsa.
The Opel Corsa, aka Vauxhall Nova in the UK, is classified as a supermini, being one of the most compact and gas efficient vehicles and many don't bother to modify this car.
We don't even see this car in the States, but in the UK, it's one of the most common cars rolling in the streets.
As most of us love to be unique and different from others, the owner of this Corsa, Laura, had the same idea in mind and decided to go badgeless all around, owning one of the cleanest and sexiest Corsa, getting attention from all directions.

Stock or not, s2k's are one of the sexiest looking sports/compact car today. The availability is obviously limited, but once in possession and if you're a modifying fanatic, the journey of shopping for aftermarket parts begin.
In general, there are a few s2k's that go full quality, but browsing through s2ki, I found one that was worth sharing with our fans.
Here's one heck of a sexy s2k from Istanbul, Turkey owned and driven by Burak Batikan AK.

If you've been keeping up with our features, 034 Motorsports Time Attack A4 should ring a bell.
Vadim K, our resourcer, recently got in contact with the company and received spectacular news.

Winning the EuroTuner Grand Prix 2009 with their A4, the company had a new project in mind; to build an even stronger and faster car. From numerous cars in the market, it came down to one, a GTI-RS.

Special Coverage: OC Food Truck Meet #2

I have to give props to Johnny Ho for creating a meet that was just insane. Not insane in a 'o crap..we have Fast and the Furious wannabe's", but a 'jaw dropping' insane.
Going to tons of meets during 2010, I have never been to one with such a turnout.
For those who didn't know, this was actually the second OC Food Truck meet, the first having a pretty good turnout as well at the Super Autobacs parking lot near Knott's.
But the meet yesterday was five times bigger and better.
The best known food trucks in SoCal were parked near the sidewalk; Tropical Shaved Ice, Komodo Food Truck, BaconMania, Calbi, Piaggio Gourmet on Wheels, Chomp Chomp Truck, Dos Chinos, and DogZilla, filling up hundreds of people.

I was able to make it to the last M&M Donuts Night of Imports for this month and met up with our photographer Nick Schultz to take photos. As usual, the turnout was great and gladly, no immature behavior was seen throughout the meet. Great job to the coordinators!

Let's start off with how much fame the car owner already has in the UK. A few years ago, his Pug 106 was in the 'Best of British' edition of the well known UK magazine Max Power. Yes, you didn't misread what I just wrote or neither did I make a mistake with the information provided by our supporter Fast-N-Modded.
Once again, the owner steps out from the shadow with another sexy car.
Here it is, Jay Polson's Red VW Golf.

The company, COBB Tuning, should ring a bell to you Time Attack and Subaru fans.
Their original shop based in Texas, Trey Cobb, the founder of COBB Tuning, has constantly established aftermarket products solely for Subaru's since 1999 and expanded their products throughout the world and now, manufactures various products for different makes/models as well. As much as their products are outstanding and raving with positive reviews, their project cars are like no other.
Last years (2010) Redline Time Attack was very difficult for COBB Tuning because of certain issues, but managed to become the champions of Redline Time Atack Modificed Class and Street Tire AWD Class. They have also received 'Team of the Year' Award, which shows how much these guys collaborate when it comes to working in the track.

Their successive years throughout has finally led them to build a facility in Southern California and on January 22, 2011, COBB Tuning had a pre-Grand Opening for all the fans to come and enjoy hanging out. The date was actually set for the actual Grand Opening but because of construction, the date got postponed to the following month.
Our photographer, Nick Schultz, was able to make it to this event and did a flawless coverage as expected.

On-Site Spotlight: JDM EK4

IMG_9997

There are a lot of car owners out there who like to keep it down low, especially those who have a sick modified car that's worth a full feature on magazines, blogs, etc.
During the M&M Donuts Night of Imports meet, I came across this Civic SiR owned and driven by Edgar.
Best part of it is its originality, straight from Japan and modified to perfection.

How often have you seen a brand new car that came out in the states and someone already deciding to modify it with quality parts?
Actually, let's make it even better. How about a 5 series BMW?
Exactly, not too many.
I would like to introduce you to Alex Chen, the owner of this beautiful 2011 F10 535i. Unlike others who wait for months and deciding to modify a brand new car, Alex had already took the step of going all-in and even not fully completed, the car is looking gorgeous.

One of my favorite meets so far for this month is the M&M Donuts Night of Imports and with more than 50+ cars showing up, there was one car that caught my attention.
It's this widebody MR2 owned by Steve Nguyen.

Hope you guys enjoyed the photo coverage by Rich for Part I. I didn't realize time was going by as I was looking through the photos. It's always a pleasure to see cars we don't usually see in the US and debuting/showing at a different country.
Our first coverage mainly focused on the showcase section and today, we'll be sharing some photos from the live performances.

Random Spotlight: WRX in Perfection

There are only a handful of WRX's that are cleanly modified and this one, owned by Anthony Heng, is probably one of my favorites as of today.

Event Coverage: Autosport International Show 2011 (Part 1)

IMG_3267

What is Autosport International?
To sum it up into one sentence, it's the "largest dedicated global motorsport exhibition in Europe."
Exactly, it's definitely an event you do not want to miss and our photographer, Rich McKee, was able to attend this event with the well-known automotive blog family Fast-N-Modded.

This event covers almost every areas of motorsports and is held once a year. Think of it as SEMA but in Europe. Here's a summary of what goes around.

This annual pre-season network event covers all areas of motorsport, both professional and grass roots, from karting right up to Formula One. Held at the NEC since January 1991, Autosport International is widely regarded as a showcase event for the UK and European motorsport industry.

This must-attend event incorporates two trade days followed by two public days, which uniquely cater for the industry and motorsport fans alike. Show highlights include The FIFTH GEAR Live Action Arena, UK’s largest indoor racing track with live performances from the presenters of the hit TV series FIFTH GEAR; the F1 Racing Grid and the renowned Autosport Central Stage.

Visitors of Autosport International can also enjoy PistonHeads: The Performance Car Show - the leading UK exhibition dedicated to enthusiasts of sports and performance cars - which runs in adjacent halls.

Rich did a spectacular job doing a coverage for our site and Fast-N-Modded. Part 1 will mostly consist of the showcase room and will continue with Part 2 later on.

Event Coverage: Enthusiast Meet and Greet x Savini Open House

IMG_9755

After a long and early morning walking around at Cars & Coffee in Irvine, I headed out to Savini's Open House in Anaheim.
This company was pretty new in my list of wheel companies, but that was before I headed down to Password:JDM's warehouse and saw a GT-R on 21" Savini Wheels.

We are back at Platinum VIP! I had to get some things done at the place and decided to take my camera with to take some shots. As usual, the shop was looking fly and was a full house with beautiful cars in and out.

Special Coverage: Fatlace 'illest' Grand Opening

IMG_9514

I do check the 'Slammed Society' section on Fatlace's website, but not updated with what goes around with their shops and other business. One of my friends told me about their store opening in Little Tokyo of Los Angeles, CA, so I came out of work for a few minutes to see what was going on.

For those who don't really know about Fatlace (and to those who asked questions on our Facebook fan page), here's some information listed on their website:
"At first glance, Fatlace is your typical shop with dope beats, comfy sneaks and kids from car meets but stay a while and discover the details that set this place apart from your usual street boutique. Chill with the crew, grab some free candy and enjoy the exquisiteness that is Japantown. You can also check out our online store where we carry all of our latest product."
And obviously, these guys LOVE slammed rides: Slammed Society.

Special Coverage: Supercar Sunday

IMG_9438

I've been pretty busy throughout this weekend attending various events and most of my time was spent with high-end luxurious cars, so expensive I wouldn't even dare thinking of buying one if I were not a CEO of a company.
After Cars & Coffee @ Irvine, I heard from a good friend of mine about a meet that was pretty close to where I live and I was surprised to find out it was where the Motor 4 Toys was held last month.
The meet starting from 7am~10am at Woodland Hills, CA, I woke up pretty early, grabbed a cup of coffee, and headed out to the meet.

It finally seems like Southern California is coming back with its meets and events and the turnouts are getting even better.
I got invited to this meet from a good friend of mine through Facebook and was pretty stoked because of the listed attendance and the location.

Cars & Coffee is one of those meets you do not want to miss if you are a true automotive enthusiast. From high-end luxurious cars to Classics, Cars & Coffee is a weekly Saturday meet opened to everyone. Here's an introduction of the meet on the official website:
Welcome to Cars and Coffee™ Irvine. This site is dedicated to the car enthusiast. Cars and Coffee™ is a weekly Saturday morning gathering in Irvine, California where hundreds of proud drivers congregate to kick tires and have a cup of coffee. There is something for everyone to enjoy; classics, exotics, concepts, hotrods, motorcycles and motor-sport. And it’s all free, minus the coffee of course.
There are approximately thirteen locations in the US that have great turnouts
(More information can be found at Cars & Coffee's official website) and being hungry to attend an event after a months worth of nothing, I woke up at 5:30am for an hour drive to Irvine, CA.

Random Spotlight: Not Too Many

January 7, 2011

SHOOT0201

How many RSX Type-S's have you seen with a perfect stance like this one, owned and driven by Andrew from WA. I'm pretty sure your answer is very limited because there really aren't that many Type-S's that focus on wheel fitment.
Well here you go, one having it all; the drop, wheels, and stance.

Random Spotlight: Doing Two in One

January 6, 2011

100110-E46-002

We've seen plenty of rides that are daily driven, from fitted to strictly performance modified, but how often do you come across a car that's also tracked.
Gunther Abueg from Orange County, CA has the car capable of having a comfy ride to his work or going for a vacation with his family, but when serious, taking those sharp turns like piece of cake.

Clean Sweep: winning absolutely everything in a competition or contest, a perfect title for today's featured 1995 Acura Integra owned and driven by Justin Wolfe from Virginia.
Browsing through the WrongFitmentCrew forums is now a habit because of the constant updates with stunning cars and that's when I came across Justin's DC, being in awe after seeing couple of photos.

It's not a surprise anymore to see the UK automotive enthusiasts getting together and cruising down the streets. But still, I'm very impressed to see such a huge crowd collaborating and having so much fun despite the weather conditions. As always, our photographer Rich McKee did a great job on bringing us a coverage.

Random Spotlight: Kamkaze Genesis Coupe

NewShoot RollingF

Let's rewind to the years and days when Hyundai's were looked down by many automotive companies and enthusiasts.
We can't ignore the fact that Hyundai cars were 'affordable' than any other cars in the market and were poorly built. This led to a negative reputation and since then, people were ambivalent about purchasing Hyundai cars as a primary vehicle.
But starting from 2009, Hyundai realized their mistakes and stepped up their game by manufacturing fully equipped cars that were in favor by many consumers.
This is when the Hyundai Genesis Coupe came out and became a hit in the automotive market.
Many of those who purchased the Genesis Coupe drove the car as a daily and didn't have any interest in modifications, but Jake from HoustonAmarillo, Texas had many plans in mind.

Random Spotlight: EK Melting the Snow

January 1, 2011

takaa_puska

There's been couple of features going on around the net with some nicely fitted EK's, but this one doesn't fall behind and might be one of your favorites from now on.
Jani Mikkonen owns and drives this EK daily in Finland, Europe, and unlike others who get depressed and store their rides in the garage during Winter, Jani is the opposite; it's actually becomes an enjoyment.
