Night Import: Photography by Frederic Schlosser | Words by William Lee

One category of cars I rarely feature on my blog is Domestics. Don't get me wrong, there are a few out there that I truly love and appreciate, but because of my blog being dedicated to mostly imports, I'm more focused on Japan and European cars. But today, I want to introduce you to a beast that many hasn't seen, as well as introducing our new contributing photographer Frederic Schlosser.
I came across Frederic's work through my fanpage not too long ago and was astound with his amazing photography work. Even more surprisingly, he is only 18 years old and his work is complimented by many professional photographers in the scene today. Having such a great talent, his work with cars has been expanding tremendously throughout the years. From imports like GT-R R35s to exotics such as Ferraris and Lamborghinis, I had to approach Frederic and ask if he was interested in being a contributing photographer for my blog and luckily, he accepted to join. As much as I am grateful for his contribution, Frederic decided to share a set of photos only for Night Import, which is a Corvette built by a well-known automotive precision company called TIKT Performance.

Let's get to the simple facts of a Corvette C6 ZR1. It's the most powerful model from the Corvette lines to date, powered by a LS9 making 638HP, slick bodyline, flawless ride control, and much more which I think I don't need to mention. It's definitely a competitor with many exotics out there making similar power. With all these outstanding specs that make us tuners greedy now for a powerful stock car, TIKT Performance decided to upgrade its already superb performance specs.

Replacing parts that led to more power is what TIKT focused on. All the engine components were upgraded along with the exhaust. With all these upgrades and tech work, a massive power of 769hp was reached after a fine tuning. But with all this power, what the car needed was aerodynamics and a proper stance.

The narrow and long body of a Corvette is a plus when it comes to aerodynamics and because of its already exotic and track capable body lines, nothing really needs to be touched; however, TIKT took a step forward by adding a new front bumper and rear spoiler to balance out and improve the aerodynamics.

In addition the cooler was encapsulated and installed in combination with a new front skirt. It sounds simple, but because of the targeted air flow to the side a real venturi effect is created. A real advantage for the Corvette's aerodynamics.

Stock suspension on the ZR1 is already superb, but to keep it stable and capable to handle top speed around the corners, new race shocks and wheel mounts were added, lowering the car ~50mm to the ground. Running on the new suspension setup are Zerra Ultralight Evo 2 wheels that are much lighter than stock wheels.

This feature was definitely different compared to all the ones I've featured in the past. It really doesn't matter what type of a car gets recognized in my blog as long as it is tastefully modified and good enough to fulfill our standards. This monster by TIKT is a great example of how domestics can be favored by many non-domestic fans.
I want to welcome Frederic again to our family and also appreciate his work for my blog.
