On-Site Spotlight: Widebody MR2

One of my favorite meets so far for this month is the M&M Donuts Night of Imports and with more than 50+ cars showing up, there was one car that caught my attention.
It's this widebody MR2 owned by Steve Nguyen.





The title for this feature is very simple because the term 'widebody' isn't usually associated with the MR2's.
From many cars we see at automotive events, the MR2 is pretty much hidden in the mist, not to be seen unlike the old days and especially, to see one modified like Steve's.
To be unique and appealing as much as possible, a custom-made widebody was specially made for the ride with Carbon AeroWare front canards, splittler, and a diffuser placed around the body for aerodynamics.

Sitting on Tein S-tech springs with Koni Yellow shocks, the drop on Work Meisters is looking flawless.

Not only was the exterior into consideration when Steve modified his car, but the performance as well. The stock motor was swapped to a 2nd gen 3S-GTE Motor with the 3S-GTE LSD transmission.

Future mods are fully adjustable coilovers, a new paint job, and double staggered rims, which will definitely change the look of the car. We'll be keeping an eye on Steve's ride and will keep you guys updated with an even more sexier looking MR2.
