Hello again NI fans (^-^)v
The weather is finally getting better here in SoCal. It's definitely a good sign for all the enthusiasts because that means...clean your ride and bring it out! While those who are living in CA are enjoying the beautiful weather, the other side of the world is being hit with thunderstorms and heavy raining, such as Odaiba, Japan where D1 Grand Prix was held last week. It really is bothersome when you plan on attending a grand event and the weather pretty much messes up the whole mood, but D1GP was different.
You guys took a look at Brain Kato's coverage last week, and for today, you'll be seeing a coverage by our official contributor Charles. He was actually updating all our staffs on what he was doing, how the weather was, who crashed, etc. Because I've already explained on the history on D1GP, I'll jump right to the coverage.
One of the best parts about car events? Checking out parked rides in the parking lot. Charles will bring you guys back here in a moment.
YEeEEEeE!!! D1 Grand Prix in Odaiba Round 1 baby!!
Big ups to all the medias working their butts off to cover the event. I hate shooting in the rain...
I love this guy!
and the practice round begins! Because it was pouring and Charles wanted to cover the car show area, no more drifting shots were taken other than the 2 posted above.
First time looking at Blitz's Toyota 86. So many aftermarket companies working on this car.
Here's another Toyota 86 built by AVO Turbo World.
How can you not like this car? Greddy 35RX.
What I call a sexy ass.
Those vents! <3
If I had a R35 and $40k in my bank account, I would buy this kit in a heartbeat.
Ah! RE Amemiya's latest/newest design for the Rx-7 FD3S, aka Super NA7.
There are a lot of mixed feelings about this kit because it literally covers the beautiful stock lines.
But....I don't give a fuck because it's still sexy and dam unique.
I'm sure if someone drove this in Beverly Hills or some place with tons of human traffic, it would be breaking necks.
1 neck about to be broken.
2 beauties side to side.
Whoa! I've never seen an Itasha by RE Amemiya. If I remember correctly, this Rx-8 was built to celebrate the 10th anniversary of something... Other than the catchy vinyl work, SICK!
In your face shot.
Ou! Who remembers this Z4?
If this is your first time seeing this monster, they call it the HatsuneMiku GoodSmile BMW Z4 GT3 Race Car. It was actually a mix of Green and White before, but it came out with a new look. You might think this car is all about the looks, but surprisingly, despite its Hatsune Miku covered wrap design, it won its first GT300 race at Malaysia last year.
Ok..so you might be asking...who the fuck is Hatsune Miku? She's a virtual/computerized singer in Japan, meaning she ain't real. In other words, "a singing synthesizer application". Still confused? Well you know that video of Tupac performing at Coachella along with Snoop Dogg? I first thought it was a holographic thing going on, but it actually wasn't. You can read more about it on Gizmodo, but the technology behind it is somewhat similar to how Hatsune Miku performs on stage. Check out the video clip posted below. Fyi, get ready to be mindfuked.
A cleaner version of RE Amemiya's Rx-8.
Tomei's JZX100.
Hello BenSopra.
Non-wrapped, wrapped.
Sexy asses.
HKS's Toyota 86 that was fully built to drift. The driver is the infamous Nobuteru Taniguchi.
How about a blacked out one?
Tough question...or maybe not.. which car would you drift? :)
Rain....Rain....Rain..............
More rain.....
Back to the parking lot, time to enjoy some cars! Gotta love VIP!
Ouf! DC2Type R sitting pretty on SSR Type Cs.
Gawd I love this Subaru wagon...
May I have an Altezza please.
Clean, slammed, and pretty sure it's fucking powerful.
Ok..hands down. You win.
Loving the fitment.
and so did the cop :)
Thanks again to my boy Charles for covering the event. Love ya brotha!
