Like always, almost every weekend is packed with events and our photographers and I are busy doing coverages. I'm always hyped up when the weekends come by because it's my time to go out and enjoy what I love to do and this past weekend, I was really excited and looking forward to go to this event called AutoCon. Why? Because it was the first underground Automotive event in Southern California!
You've probably seen this events post on your forums, or almost every major forums in the net because Night-Import was an official media and supported this event as much as it could. Posting it in almost 50+ forums and handing/sending out flyers, we were looking forward to see a decent turnout and we were right. More than 150+ cars participated, tons of models and sponsors, food trucks, and most importantly, massive spectators.
You don't see a lot of events going on 'underground' and only see them happening in movies like Fast and the Furious, but Justin Fong, the president of AutoCon, made it happen. Justin prepared this event for months and was finalized to be held at an underground parking structure @ City of Industry. It's not a small location, but pretty big, accommodating about 250 cars. Tons of sponsors came in early to setup their booths and three food trucks were parked at the top for participants and spectators.
This was AutoCon's first event and might be held next year because of its success. AutoCon collaborated with Toys for Tots so toys were donated as well.
Now to the main lot and see some sick rides!
(FYI, taking photos was really difficult because of the lighting. I will be separating this coverage into two; w/o lighting and w/ lighting. Might seem pointless, but I want to share the best with you guys.)
After walking into the structure and starting from the right, I was already stunned. On BBS RS's with a unique body color, this hatchback was gorgeous. I left Night-Import's business card so hope he contacts us for a feature.
Ken's xB, now being parted out. It's sad to hear Ken's moving on with a different car, but this car is still well respected in the automotive community.
Something about this color combination makes this MR2 sexy.
Not a lot of exterior mods on this Z, but the wheels
Limited edition Volk ce28n's, widebody...wow! I loved this Evo.
I think this S14 belongs to one of the
Decent drop with sexy wheels.
Better photos of this ride later on!
Kain's Scion tC. Being a Scion tC owner myself, there are only a handful of tC's I really respect and this is one of them. So many rare and high-end products on this car.
My favorite car at the event. If Night-Import is at an event doing a coverage, we will be choosing the 'best of the show' and send our limited decals to the owner in the future.
Talked with the owner (at the left) of this RX7 for a feature on our site. Some information I want to share but it will all be said on its feature later on.
If I remember correctly, the whole body of this Lexus was Vinyl wrapped in Carbon Fiber fabric.
Imagine this Evo without all the decals. CLEAN!
In my favorite list of cars, you've probably seen our event coverages with at least one photo of this Evo if it was present.
Mean looking Camaro. I'm not a huge fan of Domestic cars and like only a few, Camaro's being one of them.
One of the cars that will be featured on our site very soon. Sitting on Enkei RPF1's, the stance is on point.
It was good to see some cars I haven't seen too many at car shows. The Mini Copper family was small but strong.
Love the wheel finish on those BBS LM's.
TJIN edition Camaro on Air Lift. Fitment is outrageous.
TJIN edition Mustang also on Air Lift.
Saw this Integra at the corner and I really liked how the it was kept clean. I've seen too many riced out ones, it ain't even funny.
Still remember this beauty from NISEI week.
Christmas yet?
SmartWax and Jeff from Revoluscion cleaning his widebody tC.
Acura TSX on SSR Professors. Better width wheels for the rears and it's good to go.
First time ever seeing an Evo on BBS LM's in person.
Mitch's VW on Bentley wheels. I love it so you should too :)
Loved the fitment and wheel choice on this M.
I was expecting to see Anthony's xB, but he came with his other car to promote SB Metal Polishing.
I really wanted to see some Lotus's and decided to promote it on their forums, but they erased my post and kicked me out. :/
Car is sick, photo is sick.
Clean + Quality. That's how it should be done.
It was good to see this SC again. I haven't seen it for quite a long time.
Tony's NSX from It's JDM yO!, my favorite Lexus IS, 'Iron Man' IS, and Keith's Accord.
Tony brought a line of models for this event.
One of the Acura's we've featured in the past. Wheel fitment is right on.
Demon Camber alert. Is your neck broken?
AutoFashion came all the way from San Diego to support AutoCon.
Supra.....enough said.
Higher res. photo of this S2K on our Part II coverage.
Who doesn't like NSX's?
Congratulations to my friend Jose on his feature!
Always loved his Audi.
These rides representing Hollux Industries. I was trying to do some research about it but nothing showed up.
License plate is now 'autocon'
Black + Black = Gangster.
Matt Black, a favorite.
Small booth but these guys were going all out on photography.
and their Benz's.
I remember one guy from the Benz forums telling me he will be taking 10 cars to the event. Thanks for keeping the promise!
DPE wheels brought tons of cars and had some wheels in display. This wheel was sick.
Some of the cars from the DPE line.
Quality Evo.
Team SupaStar rolled BIG to AutoCon. If I was a judge, best team display and team rep.
Other rides from Team SupaStar. Love them all!!!
Bimmers like these should be recognized and featured on sites. Hope the owners contact us for a feature.
Camaro worked on by Real Autoworks.
Evo from Ar-k-n.
Damaged fenders don't look good, but a sign of flushness.
As usual, Platinum VIP brought tons of cars.
This SC had some wheels I've never seen before.
BBS LM's on a SC? That just doubles the sexiness.
We'll be shooting this car during this month if possible. Stay tuned!
Kennedy's Aristo from Platinum VIP. If I have to choose the sickest and sexiest VIP car in CA, this car will have to be it.
The only Platinum VIP car that was at SEMA. Absolutely stunning.
This car is for SALE!! Buy it when you can! Contact Platinum VIP.
I'm glad I got a chance to see this car again after Formula D.
Other rides from Platinum VIP.
You guys are looking at a sexy S13.
Those Volks look great on the Z.
Can't miss this 300ZX because of its color combo. Gold on White never gets old.
Never seen this VW. Super clean. It's named 'SHAVED'.
Another clean looking VW.
Volk equipped ek Civic hatchback
Best looking Celica ever.
Seriously, so many clean looking Evo's.
Password:JDM had their own booth for their staff/sponsored cars.
By the way, everyone was happy like these guys :)
I would like to describe how sexy this R32 Skyline is, but you just have to see it and hear it in person.
Are Ruckus's street legal? I should do some research.
Some booths that were present.
I'll be posting up some better photos for Part II. I know some photos came out really bad and had some glare going on, but no flash was used and was directly taken so please understand.
More photos to come so sit tight!

Just FYI, the green 240 belongs to Jason Wong. His twin brother, Jackson, works for DTM Autobody's sale. :)
