Night-Import: Photography by William Lee
There are tons of photos left that I want to share with you guys so let the Part II coverage begin!
Here's the Turbocharger on a Scion tC. My card can literally fit into the compressor wheel.
Some meaty tires and obviously, it's for drag racing. I think the guy at the right is from Scion Racing.
A closer look into the built-up engine. Imagine an engine like this in our cars.
By the way, the weather wasn't bad at all. It did rain for about 10 minutes, but the gloomy weather was perfect for taking pictures.
Now to the practice rounds!
Daijiro Yoshinara checking out the course in his S13. Those Volk wheels look gorgeous.
Patrick Mordaunt rolling up in his 350Z. The motor is a 3.5L 6-cylinder VQ35. Yes, it's amazing.
I didn't know, but found out he is the youngest full-time professional driver in Formula Drift. While we were studying in middle school, this guy was drifting.
Never have I imagined a SC430 drifting in the tracks. Always categorized this car in the luxurious line.
Matt Powers S14. The intense-mean looking vinyl design matches perfectly with the car. I've always loved his ride since his feature on SpeedHunters.
The owner of this S13.5 is Joon Maeng, the most awesomest(?) person and driver ever! Behind the steering wheel, he might look non-talkative, but in person, this dude has such a positive attitude. Thumbs up!
Enjoying the moment.
Calvin Wan feeling confident.
Such a sexy RX-7. Was and still is my inspiration.
Practice round begins and there goes Daijiro.
Matt Powers ripping it up!
Cody Parkhouse checking out the drivers.
The crowd was pretty dead during this time.
Uh Oh. Look who came into the track.
Tanner Foust was pretty darn good throughout the whole session.
But of course, Ken Block was still a bit better during the practice rounds.
Such a huge car to drift, but Cody was doing well.
I've never seen this car before, but it does have some fame in the Autocross and Rallying scene.
Driven by Wolfgang Hoeck.
Ken Block again.
I want to show you guys more photos of this S15 driven by Toshiki Yoshioka. It's a true RHD Silvia and the driver came all the way from Japan to participate in this event.
Tony Brakohiapa drifting in his 650HP Ford Mustang.
Drivers trying to reach the finish line as fast as they can.
More of Ken Block.
Thomas Smith AWD STI. He wasn't doing so well during the beginning but got much better later on.
Back to the line ups to take some shots.
Love the TE37SL's. The finish and look is one of a kind.
No more rain and the sun starts to reveal itself. Coverage Part III will be up soon!
