I'm very glad that even though my site is a personal blog, there are photographers who are willing to contribute and to share what they cover or feature for you guys to enjoy. Our two new family members from Japan have been giving us some great content and today, our photographer Kaoru Shoji in Japan brought us an unexpected coverage from Germany. Kaoru-san travels pretty often to various countries and taking this into consideration, he took a visit to one of the world's largest automotive car show called IAA (Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung) or aka Frankfurt Motor Show.
As much as its fame upholds in the history of automotive, the 64th show introduced 2012 cars and concepts that will be in production pretty soon. More than 900,000 visitors attended last year's event and every manufacturer in the automotive industry introduced vehicles with the latest technology.
This year's Frankfurt Motor Show was like no other, having more than 1,000 exhibitors from all around the world.
Germany is one of the countries I want to visit from an automotive standpoint. Frankfurt Motor Show was held from September 13th~25th and almost every manufacturer we can think of attended this event.
Volkswagen Polo is considered as a super-mini car, but this VW Polo R WRC was modified to debut and participate in the next World Rally Championship. From a 1.0L 3-cylinder engine, this Polo was upgraded to a 1.6L 4-cylinder and turbocharged, pulling around 300HP.
Gutted for a purpose.
Red Bull's VW Race Touareg 3, a freestyle Motor Crosser.
I've read about the new VW Beetle in Motor Trend and it looked pretty interesting. A new overall body style and few upgrades to the engine.
VW Beetle R concept was an eye catcher to many VW fans. This concept model uses the same engine as the AWD Golf R, making about 250HP. I'm sure most of you guys are surprised with a non-powerful looking car making that much HP.
One pricey but powerful machine, Porsche GT3 RS 4.0.
Not a huge fan of Boxsters, but like everyone says, "it's still a Porsche."
Something like a beat up Porsche is not usually seen at Car Shows, but this one is giving me the chills because of showing its own characteristics.
O you Porsches...
Probably you haven't seen or heard about the New Stratos. Its powerful performance and charismatic figure is based off of its first model, Lancia Stratos HF, now powered by a Ferrari 430 Scuderia motor.
Audi A5 built with the latest Audi technology, Audi Ultra.
Not sure what this inside track is for, but it sure does look awesome.
Talk about a unique and small car. Audi introduced one of their new cars, an Audi Urban Concept. This particular model is only for 2 people, powered by an electric motor. It weighs only 480 Kilograms...interesting!

Back inside, our mini friend, Mini Cooper.
The 2012 Mini Cooper has a different rear and overall body line. Not too sure if I like it, but it looks much sleeker.
Awesome display.
Mini Cooper SD model is a coupe and from what I know of, it will not be imported to the US.
Be Mini!
The new BMW i series, BMW i3. Powered by an electric motor, the i series will go into production around 2013.
BMW Performance Studie 1-Series. Its performance, suspension, brakes, etc. were all upgraded.
The new BMW F10 M5 will be on sale next month so save up your money. This monster is running on a S63 biturbo 4.4 Litre V8 pulling 550+HP. Not only is it more powerful than the previous models, but it was built to cut CO2 emission as well.
I spot a classic BMW at the left.
Transformers!!! Of course, you can only see Bumblebee in the Chevrolet section.
Compuware Corvette C6 from Le Mans. This specific C6 won 5 titles, so seeing it in person would have been exhilarating.
I don't think I need to say anything about this model.
Honda, everyone's favorite.
Very interesting! Ford introduced their new model Evos at this event. It's a hybrid concept car and equipped with 4 gull wing doors. Through research, I read it will not be in production but the ideas behind it will be used on a different model.
AC Schinitzer introduced their new tuning kit for BMW 1M series.
